Dear 6th Grade Families,
We’re excited to welcome your child to 6th grade at Knapp Elementary and invite you to help make their final year truly unforgettable by joining the 6th Grade Committee! This parent-led committee helps plan and support special events, activities, and celebrations that make 6th grade a meaningful and fun experience for our students.
The 6th Grade Committee would like to get our first meeting of the 25-26 year on the books! Please click on the Google form link and select the date(s) that work best for you from the options.
We'll be in touch with the best possible date once we hear back from everyone! If you are unable to attend on any of these dates, that's OK! We will have several meetings over the year, but feel free to reach out with any ideas, suggestions, concerns or questions that you may want to see discussed at the meeting- or anytime - at knapp6thgradecommittee@gmail.com.
We will meet in the food court area at the Wegmans next to Montgomery Mall at 7:00PM on whichever date works best for the majority! We look forward to working with all of you and thank you so much for volunteering your time for our students!

**What Does the Committee Do?**
The 6th Grade Committee is responsible for:
* Planning and fundraising for the end-of-year class picnic or special activity
* Organizing fun events throughout the school year (e.g., Kona Ice visits, pizza parties, etc.)
* Decorating and coordinating the 6th Grade Graduation Ceremony and Reception in June
* Providing custom class t-shirts or sweatshirts for each student
While we receive some funding from our Home & School Association, the committee needs to fundraise to support the majority of these experiences.
**Fundraising & Early Planning**
We’ll be holding a kickoff meeting in early September to organize and finalize fundraising efforts for the start of the year.
Past successful fundraisers have included:
* September: Mum Sale
* November: Thanksgiving Pie Sale
* Late November/December: Holiday Ornament Sale, Wreaths & Poinsettias
* Spring (March/April): Pound Cake Sale
We’re always open to new ideas, so come ready to brainstorm!
**How You Can Help**
Whether you have a little time or a lot, there’s a way to get involved! We’re looking for volunteers to help with:
* Fundraising
* Event planning and coordination
* Communications and outreach
* Decorating and set-up for events
