NPHS Students Place in Top 3 at PA SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference

The North Penn School District (NPDS) is proud to congratulate North Penn High School (NPHS) students for their accomplishments at the 2019 Pennsylvania SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference recently held in Hershey, PA.

Each year, students from the North Montco Technical Career Center (NMTCC) compete in the SkillsUSA Leadership and Skill Competition. NPHS students recently traveled to Hershey, PA along with several of their classmates at NMTCC from other sending schools to participate in the state competition. Congratulations to the following NPHS students for placing in the top three in their program.

  • Dimple Gandevia - 1st Place, Mechatronics
  • Sujay Patel - 1st Place, Mechatronics
  • Justin Choi - 2nd Place, Mechatronics
  • Peyton Brown - 2nd Place, Drafting & Design
  • Emily Kelly - 3rd Place, Health Sciences

First place winners Dimple Gandevia and Sujay Patel will advance to compete at the National SkillsUSA Conference in June, held in Louisville, KY.

SkillsUSA is the national organization for students in trade, industrial, technical and health occupations education. It sponsors the SkillsUSA Championships annually to recognize the achievements of career and technical education students and to encourage them to strive for excellence and pride in their chosen occupations. As a nationwide partnership of students, instructors and industry working together, SkillsUSA works to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA programs teach leadership, citizenship and character development to complement technical skill training. The organization emphasizes respect for the dignity of work, ethics, workmanship, scholarship and safety.
