Hundreds of Students’ Artwork to be Featured in North Penn Knight of the Arts

The North Penn Knight of the Arts, featuring artwork created by students in kindergarten through grade 12 and fashion wear created by students in the North Penn High School (NPHS) Family Consumer Sciences (FCS) program, is open to the public on Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm in the K-Pod Concourse, gym and J-Pod at NPHS, located at 1340 Valley Forge Road, Lansdale.

The North Penn Knight of the Arts is an impressive show that features a multitude of media including painting, photography, sculpture, computer animation, fashion design and more. During the show, students will give live demonstrations of their artistic skills such as drawing and throwing on the potter" s wheel. In addition to the artwork, community members can walk through the fashion gala exhibit in the audion to see how students are taking the fashion industry by storm. Musical performances by NPSD students will be featured to complement the delight of visitors" visual senses by stimulating their auditory senses as well. The Gallery also includes the Senior Show which features artwork created by NPHS seniors who have taken three or more art classes throughout their high school years, showing their dedication to the visual arts. It includes a reception for these seniors, their families and friends on Wednesday, May 22 from 6:00 to 6:30 pm. in the art pod of NPHS.

Donations to benefit the Senior Art Scholarship Fund are welcome. The scholarship is awarded to several seniors who will be pursuing art in college. Donations will be accepted at the art show. T-shirts with the student-designed art show logo will be available to purchase and all proceeds will benefit the art scholarship.
